Common Questions About Getting a Fence Built
How long does a fence job take?
Most residential installs run one to three days depending on footage, material, and site access. Slopes and HOA approvals add time, and we tell you that at the quote rather than after.
Do you handle HOA approvals?
Yes. We put together the design submittal and work to the community's guidelines. Many Northern San Diego neighborhoods require approval before the first post goes in.
Do I need a permit for a fence in San Diego?
Usually no. A residential fence 6 feet or under does not need a building permit in the City of San Diego or the unincorporated county. Permits apply over 6 feet, on pool enclosures, and on walls retaining more than 3 feet of soil. Height limits still apply, and they are tighter in front yards, so we confirm the rules for your address first.
Can you build on a slope?
Yes. We step or rack the fence to follow the grade. A slope install takes more time to set, so it costs more than a flat run.
Who actually shows up to do the work?
One of our two crews. The person who quotes your fence is on the crew that builds it. We don't subcontract.

Yes. We come out, measure, and give you a written price with no obligation.
